Russ has made it a point to denounce pill and lean usage repeatedly in the past. He's even donned a shirt that reads, "How Much Xans And Lean Do You Have To Do Before You Realize You're A Fucking Loser."
The New Jersey native took to Twitter ranting about the epidemic over the weekend, after the unfortunate passing of 21-year-old Lil Peep. TheThere's Really a Wolf artist's main issue is with people recording themselves doing drugs and posting it to social media in a glorifying manner.

"Abusing Xanax and other pills drugs etc in private cuz your depressed/other mental issues is one thing(still not good)," Russ wrote, "constantly recording yourself doing drugs and putting up pics and videos of doing it is when you start CHOOSING to publicly glorify it and make it an image."
SmokePurpp took issue with Russ' stream of consciousness and fired back, calling him a "bitch" and telling him to "shut up" on Twitter for trying to make an example out of someone who died just days prior. It's unclear if he was offended over believing Russ was directing shots at him, or he was genuinely defending Peep's honor.
Earlier in the month, Wiz Khalifa took to Instagram with an anti-lean PSA calling the drug of choice "lame."

I dont have a difficult time finding the correlation between bein depressed & abusing drugs. I do however find it difficult to find the correlation between depression & publicly promoting your drug use over & over again via pics/vids. I could b wrong but discussion should b had.

When you say you're depressed and not tryna glorify drug use or pander to the public by making it an "image" that's one thing. The second you start posting videos and pictures of you doing it is when your actions contradict your words. Period.

I'm not saying depression/anxiety/addiction aren't real things. They are..just like posting videos and pictures of you doing drugs because a PART of you knows it works as an image is a real thing too. You can be both lol depressed AND posting drug abuse constantly as an image.
